Tinipak River: Camping on the Great Outdoor

Tinipak River - Daraetan - Rizal ProvinceWhile some people want to spend their leisure time lounging around leather-covered seats of expensive coffee shops and diners in town, there are those who make the most out of their weekends by getting rugged in a little outdoor adventure.

If you are among the latter group, then you must have invested on some good outdoor gears which are always at hand if you’re scheduled for a camp out. Have you heard of the Tinipak River in Daraitan, Rizal?

Challenge yourself for a bit as you trek for about 30 to 45 minutes to reach the river. Although it’s becoming a popular destination among campers, what draws them to Tinipak River is lesser volume of people flocking the site.

Reminders: better go there when the weather’s dry as the rocks can be slippery, it’s scary to take risk; bring enough food to last for your stay, and your good ol’ tent, of course.

Here’s how to go to Tinipak River as shared on tipidtrip.blogspot.com.

Commute: From Starmall, take a jeepney ride going to Tanay. From the market which is the end point of the jeeps and FX, take another jeepney ride to Daraitan (or Daraetan). Note that there are only two scheduled trips going there daily – first trip is 1pm and next is 3pm.

If you don’t have patience to wait for these scheduled trips, take the craggy mode to reach there by first, taking a jeepney ride to Sampaloc, find ‘Gate 1’, then ride a tricycle to the habal-habal terminal going to Daraetan.

Private vehicle: Travel to Antipolo – Tanay road all the way to Sampaloc. Turn right to go to J-camp then turn left to reach Daraetan.
